Temblar

I experienced my first earthquake this morning! Unfortunately, I sort of missed it. We were teaching outside this morning...the head teacher was in meetings today and Ricardo didn't have the keys to the other two rooms beside his own. It was a lovely setting under the shade of a big tree with a nice breeze keeping us cool. We were using school chairs on the ground so I didn't think anything of it when my chair shook a bit...I thought I was just on uneven ground. Warren and our students were oblivious but Ricardo and all the other students came running out of the classroom. The standard procedure is to leave the building for fear of falling walls or ceiling. This is not an unusual occurence in El Salvador and, after a short wait outside, the students returned to the classroom and continued their studies. My reaction is one of disappointment. To think that I was in my first earthquake....and I missed it!
